PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer/liquid crystal composite material developing a BP (Blue Phase) over a temperature range suitable in practical use, and suppressing the drive voltage low when used for a display element or the like, and to provide a monomer/liquid crystal mixture becoming the raw material thereof, and a liquid crystal display element using the composite material. SOLUTION: The monomer/liquid crystal mixture contains a polymerizable composition containing one or more kinds of polymerizable compounds having an asymmetric structure and a liquid crystal material having no polymerizable group and exhibiting a nematic phase or a chiral nematic phase.
