<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery without the need of switching off a power source of electronic equipment upon exchange and without the need of lock releasing operation, and to provide portable electronic equipment with the battery mounted. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The battery 1 is provided with a concave or convex shape formed at either end part for insertion-coupling with each other, and a lock pin 22 protruding in a direction crossing a given slide direction at a normal state. In case an end part is insertion-coupled with the other end part of another battery, a stopper release pin 17 releases regulation of housing of the lock pin 22 by a stopper 19, then a housing pin 20 makes an arm 21 rotate to house the lock pin 22 in a case.
