<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent reduction in a flash point of sealing oil used for preventing leakage of gas in a gas holder. Ž<P>SOLUTION: After using the gas holder 151 capable of varying capacity of a gas chamber by a piston liftably arranged inside and airtightly sealing a wall surface of the gas chamber and the piston by the sealing oil, for a predetermined period as a gas holder for a coke furnace for storing coke furnace gas generated by the coke furnace, the gas holder 151 is used by switching as the gas holder 151 for blast furnace gas for storing the blast furnace gas generated by a blast furnace, and aromatic hydrocarbon derived from the coke furnace gas dissolved into the sealing oil is transferred to the blast furnace gas side, and reduction in the flash point of the sealing oil is recovered.
