PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc brake improved in a braking characteristic in the backing direction of a vehicle and capable of reducing outbreaks of the noise such as brake squeal. SOLUTION: A friction pad 7 is elastically supported by a pad spring 10 fitted to an arm 2A side of a fitting member 2. The pad spring 10 includes: a guide plate 11 arranged inside a pad guide 3 of the fitting member 2 to guide a lug portion 7A of the friction pad 7 in the axial direction of a disc; a radial direction energizing portion 13 for energizing the friction pad 7 outward in the radial direction from an inside part of the guide plate 11 in the radial direction of the disc; and a circumferential direction energizing portion 15 extending outside in the radial direction of the disc from the guide plate 11 and formed by folding the extending edge inside in the radial direction to energize a part of the friction pad 7, which is positioned outside in the radial direction of the disc near the lug portion 7A, in the circumferential direction of the disc.
