PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method of producing a three-dimensional shaped article, in which a warping phenomenon occurring in a solidified layer, i.e. three-dimensional shaped article, is prevented as much as possible. SOLUTION: The apparatus of producing the three-dimensional shaped article includes: a powder layer forming means 24 for forming a powder layer; a light beam irradiating means for irradiating the powder layer with a light beam so as to form the solidified layer; and a shaped plate 21 in which a powder layer 22 and/or solidified layer 24 are to be formed. The shaped plate 21 is joinable to the solidified layer 24, and Young's modulus of the shaped plate 21 is approximately 1-15 times Young's modulus of the solidified layer 24.
