<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of sensors used in a control system of an adjustable valve mechanism using a brushless motor as an actuator. <P>SOLUTION: The controller includes a rotation angle sensor that generates a pulse signal synchronized with the rotation of an output shaft of a brushless motor. The controller detects the rotation angle of the output shaft based on the pulse signal, detects the magnetic pole position of the brushless motor based on the detected rotation angle, and controls the brushless motor based on the detected rotation angle and magnetic pole position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
