<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for evaluating engine oil consumption quantity and an evaluating method therefor, allowing engine oil consumption quantity of an engine at a time of manufacturing to be measured accurately, easily and in a short period of time based on sulfur concentration in exhaust gas. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This system is an engine oil consumption quantity evaluation system 10 at a manufacturing stage, and includes: an engine bench 2; a S trace meter 3 measuring sulfur concentration in exhaust gas; database 5a for storing correction coefficient for correcting oil consumption quantity based on sulfur concentration determined by comparing oil consumption quantity by continuous weight meter 4 and oil consumption quantity by sulfur concentration in exhaust gas in the engine 1 in a development stage beforehand and for acquiring correction coefficient applied to calculation of oil consumption quantity by sulfur concentration in exhaust gas measured by the S trace meter 3 in the engine 1 in the manufacturing stage; and a means calculating oil consumption quantity by applying correction coefficient to the measurement result of sulfur concentration in exhaust gas in the engine 1 in the manufacturing stage.
