<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method improved remarkably in productivity, compared with that in a conventional manual work, in a method of recovering a neodymium magnet from used equipment built in with the neodymium magnet such as a harddisk drive, to recycle the neodymium magnet. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method of recovering the neodymium magnet from the used equipment includes at least (1) the first step of demagnetizing the neodymium magnet by heating the used equipment up to a temperature of demagnetizing temperature of the neodymium magnet or more and less than a melting point thereof, in a furnace, and of generating a mixture of a fused matter and a unfused matter, (2) the second step of separating the unfused matter obtained in the first step from the fused matter, and of recovering the unfused matter, and (3) the third step of sieving the unfused matter recovered in the second step, to recover a portion with a higher content of the neodymium magnet, wherein the method may include (4) the fourth step of subjecting the portion recovered in the third process to magnetic separation, to recover a magnetic metal portion.
