The mat (14) has a dried foam mat part soaked with mineral adhesive or cement-based mortar or filled dispersion, where the mat is made of open-cellular foam material such as polyurethane foam. The mat is uniformly molded. The mineral adhesive is cement-based tile adhesive. The cement-based mortar contains additive i.e. plastic dispersion. A side of the mat is provided with a lamination that is made of fleece material. The filled dispersion contains minerals such as quartz sand and quartz powder and/or barium sulfate and/or lime and/or cement. An independent claim is also included for a sound-absorbing building board comprising a polystyrene support plate.
