<p>A process for determining the presence of abnormal glycosaminoglycan (GAG) accumulation or related disorder comprising generating a biomarker of one or more non-reducing end oligosaccharides, wherein the biomarker is a saturated oligosaccharide and is generated by treating the GAGS with a glycosaminoglycan lyase, e.g. heparin lyase, chondroitinase, keratanase or hyaluronidase, and detecting the amount of the biomarker. The disorder may be mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS). Also claimed is a composition comprising one or more isolated oligosaccharide, with or without a detectable label.</p> |
