<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method that reduces the amount toner or paper used. <P>SOLUTION: The printing controller is configured to control an image forming apparatus which processes a printing job. The device is provided with: a condition storage part 31 for storing element control conditions for determining content of print setting affecting the amount of toner or paper used on the basis of remaining amount of toner or paper, in association with user identification information; an information acquisition part 32 for acquiring the user identification information and information on the remaining toner or paper included in the printing job from the image forming apparatus; a content determination part 33 for reading element control conditions from the condition storage part 31 based on the acquired user identification, and for determining the content of the print setting from the remaining amount information and the read element control conditions; and a content transmission part 34 for transmitting the content of setting to the image forming apparatus, and for updating the content of the print setting included in the printing job. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
