<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve vehicle mountability of an electric power steering device. <P>SOLUTION: An electric power steering device (10) has a worm deceleration mechanism (20) having a worm gear (23) provided on the outer periphery of a worm shaft (24) and a worm wheel (22) engaged with the worm gear, and a drive mechanism (3) for driving the worm gear deceleration mechanism.
