PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera which prevents image quality degradation when pulse-driving a DC motor. SOLUTION: The electronic camera includes the DC motor 61 for driving a movable member 100 required for the exposure of an image sensor 250 at a predetermined timing, a drive circuit 62 which supplies a DC voltage or a pulse-like voltage to the DC motor 61 according to the operation of a release operation member 71, and a control means 51 which controls the drive circuit 62 so as to start the supply of the pulse like voltage when supplying the pulse like voltage to the DC motor 61 after exposure, based on the later time either of the ending time of the read out of a photoelectric conversion signal from the image sensor 250, and the ending time of the operation of the release operation member 71.
