<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus which can prevent deterioration of view angle characteristics even when frontal intensity and frontal contrast are improved, and to provide a display device using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting apparatus includes a cold cathode fluorescent tube (a light source), and a light emitting surface for emitting light from the cold cathode fluorescent tube, and includes a lens sheet 11 for collecting light from the light emitting surface.
