PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera in which a write command for high-speed writing to a storage medium is issued without being influenced from the physical limitation of the storage medium. SOLUTION: If there are not remaining divided data non-transmitted to a memory card 28, it is confirmed whether or not data sized smaller than 128 KB, that is a write unit, are stored in a memory. If data smaller than the write unit are stored, a cluster corresponding to the size of the data is secured and the memory card 28 is instructed to write a readout order into a FAT entry. The data smaller than 128 KB of the write unit are then transmitted to the memory card 28. If the data smaller than 128 KB are not an integer multiple of 512 bytes of a block size, fraction data smaller than 512 bytes cannot be written for the block unit.
