<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drainage system of which the manufacturing cost is reduced by reducing the manufacturing cost of a control means for controlling a drain volume. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The drainage system 1 includes a reverse U-shaped pipe 3, a trap pipe 4, and a drain pipe 5 that are connected in series to drain water out of a reserve tank 2, an air circulating pipe 6 branching from the reverse U-shaped pipe 3, and an adjuster 7 which adjusts the amount of air in the U-shaped pipe 3 via the air circulating pipe 6. As the trap pipe 4 is sealed against water and air is accumulated in the reverse U-shaped pipe 3, the adjuster 7 adjusts the amount of air in the reverse U-shaped pipe 3 to control a drain volume. The adjuster 7 controlling the drain volume is the adjuster for adjusting the amount of air in the reverse U-shaped pipe 3. Being different from a conventional drain valve required to be highly strong enough to bear waterflow pressure, the adjuster 7 is allowed to have low strength.
