PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner in which the deformation of an optical housing due to the heat generation of a deflector is made smaller than before. SOLUTION: The optical scanner includes: a light source; a polygon mirror which deflects a luminous flux from the light source; a scanning optical system which condenses the luminous flux deflected with the polygon mirror onto a face to be scanned; an optical housing 2300 which has a bottom plate and a plurality of side plates and in which the polygon mirror and the scanning optical system are housed; and a supporting plate 2031A member which has a supporting mechanism which slidably supports both end parts of the optical housing 2300 in Y-axis direction, wherein the position a on the bottom plate at which the polygon mirror is disposed and both end parts (position b1, b2) of the bottom plate in the direction passing through the position a and parallel to the optical axis of the scanning optical system are fixed.
