An air spray gun comprises an air flow passage, a spray liquid nozzle 20 mounted in the passage and having an outlet orifice, a needle extending into the liquid nozzle for regulating its orifice size and flow rate, a spray liquid flow passage, a seal 39 associated with the needle/liquid flow passage, a trigger mechanism, an air cap and an air distributor, wherein the (two-part) needle has an exchangeable front part 34 coupled (bayonet / screw) to a rear part 35 connected to the trigger. The air cap may have four equally spaced horns (two pairs), each horn having a spray patterning bore with an orifice directed inwards. The air distributor 16 preferably comprises a pair of diametrically arranged apertures and is rotatable to connect its apertures with the spray patterning bores. The seal may be provided on the needle front portion. The needle tip is therefore easily replaced, possibly using a tool, e.g. to accommodate various paint viscosities. |
