<p>A quick change tool bit holder 1 comprises a hub 2 with a bore 12, and a retaining tooth 50, the retaining tooth 50 moving at an acute angle relative to the longitudinal axis A of the bore 12, and into engagement with the bit 21, 23. Holder 1 may comprise an ejector 69 for ejecting bit 21, 23 out of bore 12 when tooth 50 is moved out of engagement with bit 21, 23, and ejector 69 may comprise a spring 72 and a push button 70, which may comprise a magnet 80. Holder 1 may comprise a sleeve 24 movably mounted on the hub 12 between a locking position, in which the tooth 50 is forced into engagement with the bit 21, 23, and a retracted position. Holder 1 may comprise a plurality of teeth 50, which are spaced around the periphery of hub 2. The tool bit may be an insert bit 21 or a quick change bit 23. A method of retaining a tool bit is also disclosed.</p> |
