PURPOSE: A voltage regulator is provided to allow a user to easily set a maximum output current and the output current in short circuit by including an overcurrent protection circuit. CONSTITUTION: An amplifier(60) compares a reference voltage with the voltage based on an output voltage. The amplifier controls the gate voltage of an output transistor. The output transistor(40) outputs the output voltage. A sense transistor(11) senses the output current of the output transistor. A first control circuit(20) turns of the output transistor. A second control circuit(30) additionally turns off the output transistor.
