<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of abnormal noise with a good fuel economy of a vehicle to some extent when an engine is stopped. <P>SOLUTION: When engine command power becomes less than a threshold value for stopping during engine operation, exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) to an intake system by an exhaust gas recirculation device is performed, an air-fuel ratio AF of an air-fuel mixture taken into the engine is in a lean state where the ratio is not less than a predetermined air-fuel ratio AFref greater than a theoretical air-fuel ratio, and torque command Tm2* of a second motor is less than a value 0, it is determined that a possibility of generating abnormal noise is high when the engine operation is stopped, and then the engine operation is stopped after load operation of the engine, in place of an autonomous operation, is performed over driving time t2 longer than driving time t1, wherein with the autonomous operation over the driving time t1, it is determined that a possibility of generating abnormal noise when the engine operation is stopped is small. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
