<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear sensor in which increase in the number of horizontal transfer sections can be suppressed while accelerating a reading speed, and to provide an image reading apparatus with the linear sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The linear sensor includes: a sensor line group 10a in which a plurality of sensor lines 12a-12c are adjacently provided, each sensor group including a plurality of photoelectric transducers arrayed in a one-dimensional direction; a plurality of vertical transfer sections provided for each of the plurality of photoelectric transducers adjacent in a direction Y orthogonal to an array direction X among the photoelectric transducers of the sensor line group 10a and for reading signal charges from the photoelectric transducers 11, respectively, and transferring them in the direction Y orthogonal to the array direction X; and a plurality of horizontal transfer sections 14a, 14b disposed in both ends of the plurality of vertical transfer sections 13 and for transferring signal charges, which have been output from the vertical transfer sections 13, in the array direction X. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
