PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polylactic acid block copolymer, which method can be produced at low cost, and can increase the content of a stereo-complex crystal. SOLUTION: The method for producing a polylactic acid block copolymer includes a process to perform a Diels-Alder reaction of reacting poly-L-lactic acid having an anthracenyl group at the terminal with poly-D-lactic acid having a maleimide group at the terminal, and the method for producing a polylactic acid block copolymer includes a process to perform a Diels-Alder reaction of reacting poly-D-lactic acid having an anthracenyl group at the terminal with poly-L-lactic acid having a maleimide group at the terminal.
