PURPOSE: A piston type compressor is provided to enhance the durability and to reduce the vibration. CONSTITUTION: A piston type compressor comprises a pair of cylinder blocks(1,3), a pair of housings, a driving shaft(13), a swash plate(27), and a duplex type piston. An intake(1c) for communicating a swash plate room with the outside is formed on the cylinder block and the swash plate is composed of a boss part(27a) inserted into the cylinder block through a thrust bearing and a cam part(27b) for making the piston reciprocate. A pair of intake holes is formed on the boss part. The intake hole is arranged to be extended in a diameter direction not to be matched in a rotation direction. The center hole(13a) extended in an axial direction, a pair of a guide holes for communicating the intake hole with the center hole, and a pair of intake guide holes communicating with the center hole are formed on the driving shaft. A pair of intake ports for communicating the intake guide hole with a compression room are formed on the cylinder block and the swash plate room and the compression room are communicated by an intake flow path consisting of the intake hole, the guide hole, the intake guide hole and the intake port and the center hole and another intake flow path consisting of the intake hole, the guide hole, the intake guide hole, the intake port and the center hole.
