PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new means for hastening the flowering period of a rose family fruit tree such as apple or pear trees. SOLUTION: The method for promoting the flowering of the rose family fruit tree includes inoculating viral RNA concentrated from a proliferated host infected with a recombinant apple latent spherical virus (FT-ALSV) expressing Arabidopsis thaliana FT gene, on the cotyledon of a rosaceous fruit tree seedling just after rooted, by a particle gun method.
