PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery in which molding of a terminal plate is easy, and welding property of the terminal plate and the battery body, and welding property of the terminal plate and a lead are both superior. SOLUTION: In the battery 1 in which the terminal plate 9 is joined to the battery body 2, the terminal plate 9 includes a plurality of metal plates 10, 11 laminated, and is in order to weld the lead for electrical connection, a recessed part 6 is formed on the surface of the battery body 2, the terminal plate 9 includes an embedded part in the recessed part 6, and the plurality of metal plates 10, 11 include the metal plate 10 of the same kind of metal as that of the battery body 2, and the metal plate 11 of the same kind of metal as that of the lead. By this, since the same kinds of metal is welded while there is no level difference between the terminal plate 9 and the battery body 2, welding property of the terminal plate 9 and the battery body 2 becomes superior. Furthermore, since the same kinds of metal are welded while the lead is overlapped on the metal plate 11 of the same kind of metal, welding property of the terminal plate 9 and the lead also becomes superior.
