<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell electrode excellent in heat resistant property, capable of manifesting proton conductivity at low temperature, and to provide a fuel cell using the same capable of operating at higher temperature than before. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell electrode is composed of at least a proton conductive glass and a catalyst. It is preferable that the proton conductive glass is made of glass constituent containing oxide of phosphorus as a main component.
