<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly efficient and longer-lasting organic EL element in which holes are not accumulated in a boundary surface between a light-emitting layer and a cathode-side layer, and to provide an organic light-emitting device. <P>SOLUTION: In the organic EL element and the organic light-emitting device containing the organic EL element, the organic EL element has a light-emitting layer between an anode and a cathode, the light-emitting layer contains a light-emitting material and a charge transport material and has a hole relaxation layer provided adjacent to the cathode side of the light-emitting layer, the hole relaxation layer contains a hole relaxation material, the hole relaxation material is an organic compound having a hole-transporting unit and an electron-transporting unit, and at least one charge transport material and at least one hole relaxation material are the same organic compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
