<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection apparatus, an information discrimination system, a detection subject, an article to be identified and electronic equipment which make it possible to determine the genuineness of genuine articles and counterfeit articles in a straightforward and inexpensive fashion. <P>SOLUTION: The detection apparatus 10 includes: a plurality of light-emitting sections 14a, 14b, and 14c that emit light at no less than three different wavelengths onto an article 22 to be identified, which is printed with inks having respectively different reflective properties; and a photodetecting section 16 that receives light reflected by the article 22 to be identified, out of light emitted from the light-emitting sections 14a, 14b, and 14c.
