PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal structure of an internal combustion engine, favorable to check the sealing performance. SOLUTION: An annular groove 23 to serve as a space is formed between an O-ring 25 as a leak preventive seal for the cooling water and an O-ring 22 as a leak preventive seal for the lubricating oil arranged in that part of the engine which partitions a cooling water passage 10 and a chain chamber 4A as a lubricating oil chamber from each other, while a through hole 26 to serve as a passage is formed whose one end is left open at the bottom of the annular groove 23 as to space located below in the gravitational direction and the other end is open to the external space of the internal combustion engine.
