The photovoltaic module has a transparent plate, a transparent composite film provided on the transparent plate, and strips of thin film solar cell (3) on the transparent composite film. Power bus bars (4a,4b) are provided which are in contact with the strips of thin film solar cell. Another transparent composite film is provided on the strips of thin film solar cell and another transparent plate is provided on the latter transparent composite film. The strips of thin film solar cell are isolated on external substrate containing materials such as glass, metals or plastics. An independent claim is also included for manufacturing a photovoltaic module.
