PURPOSE: A swash plate type compressor is provided to enhance the efficiency of a compressor by decreasing the force for operating the compressor. CONSTITUTION: A swash plate type compressor comprises cylinder blocks(120,120'), a front head(110), a rear head(150), a shaft, and a piston(170). The cylinder block comprises a shaft supporting hole(121), a plurality of cylinder bores(122,122'), and a swash plate chamber(134). The front head is installed on one end of the cylinder block and comprises a shaft penetrating hole(O). The rear head is installed on the other end of the cylinder block and comprises a refrigerant sucking chamber(151). A refrigerant discharging chamber is formed in one of the front head and the rear head and a refrigerant passage(172) is formed in the piston. The refrigerant passage communicates with the cylinder bore and transfers the refrigerant compressed from one side of the cylinder bore to the other side of the cylinder bore.
