<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform starting processing in activation and recovery from a power saving mode, in a short time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An AG value set to an AG register 118 of an AGC circuit 114, which performs auto-gain (AG) control on analog image data photoelectric converted by a photoelectric converting section 44, and an AO value set to an AO register of an AOC circuit 116 for performing auto-offset (AO)control (AOC) are arithmetically operated during powering-off and stored in a nonvolatile memory 110. During powering-on, a setting section 112 comprised of a direct memory access controller (DMAC) or the like reads the AG value and the AO value from the nonvolatile memory 110 without interposing a control section 108 and sets the read values to the AG register 118 and the AO register 120, respectively.
