PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder head gasket capable of suppressing intrusion of foreign matter into an oil pan or the like by a simple structure without changing a cross sectional area of oil return passages of a cylinder head and a cylinder block. SOLUTION: This cylinder head gasket 10 for sealing between faces of the cylinder head 3 and the cylinder block 2 of an engine 1 opposing each other has an opening part 14A formed therein for communicating oil return passages 3a, 2a formed in the cylinder head 3 and the cylinder head 2, respectively. The opening part 14A is sectioned into first and second regions A1, A2, and the total area of the opening areas of the regions A1, A2 is set to an opening area required for returning oil in the engine 1. One out of the first and second regions A1, A2 has an opening shape in which an oil level gauge 8 can be inserted from the cylinder head 3 side. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
