PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress rubber from being bitten between segments in a tread mold. SOLUTION: In the vulcanizing mold, a fan-shape segment 9 in which a tread mold 4 is divided at mold dividing faces K includes segment main parts 20 having guide faces 22 inclined in a direction coming closer to the mold dividing faces K toward outside in a radial direction in both circumferential outer ends and segment sub parts 21 held so as to be able to relatively advance and retract inward and outward in a radial direction along the guide faces 22 to the segment main parts 20 and having the mold dividing faces K. When the segments 9 move from the mold opening condition Y1 to the mold closing condition Y2, the segment sub parts 21 relatively move from relative retracted positions Z1 in which the inner peripheral faces 21Si in a radial direction retract to the outside in a radial direction more than the inner peripheral faces 20Si in the radial direction of the segment main parts 20 to the reference positions Z0 where the inner peripheral faces 21Si, 20Si in the radial direction arranged so as to be substantially flush with each other, and the segment sub parts 21, 21 adjacent with each other circumferentially is closed and stopped while the mold dividing faces K, K abut on each other prior to the mold closing condition Y2.
