<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mat for oil adsorption which can give a high level of buoyancy and oil adsorption compared with a mat for oil adsorption made of a nonwoven fabric of polypropylene. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This mat for oil adsorption is made of a hollow filament nonwoven fabric of propylene polymer with a fiber diameter of 10 to 100 μm and a hollow section having a rate of hollowness of 10 to 50%, and preferably, with the amount applied of 30 to 1,000 g/m<SP>2</SP>and a thickness of 0.3 to 15 mm. In addition, the mat is best suited for treatment by adsorbing, recovering or wiping leaking or streaming oil or soil water which contaminates oceans, rivers and lakes/swamps, or oil and soil water leakages inside the plant.
