METHOD OF RECORDING AND/OR REPRODUCING DIGITAL DATA ON RECORD CARRIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read and/or write data on a record carrier by random access for reading and writing even though a conventional recording method continuously records digital data from the beginning of a track to its end at a net data rate on a case-by-case basis through the whole recording. SOLUTION: The continuous recording of the digital data is replaced by burst recording. Each burst forms one cluster on the record carrier by the burst recording of data. The data are recorded with an advantage at a data rate of 1.411 Mbit/sec in a CD standard recording format. Data recording and reproducing is achieved on a rewritable and non-contact scannable record carrier, for instance an optical magnetic disk (MOD). COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
