摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a responsiveness by shortening the idle time for the amount of a pad clearance at the time of braking in a device capable of automatically developing a braking force without performing a braking operation by an operator. SOLUTION: Based on a detection signal from a sensor for detecting the state of a vehicle irrespective of the presence or absence of the operation by the operator, this device moves a piston linearly to press a brake pad against a disk so as to generate a braking force on wheels. The device comprises a braking prediction means (Step S8) predicting whether a braking operation is required or not by the fact whether the detection signal from the sensor exceeds or does not exceed a threshold set under the looser conditions than braking operation start conditions. A control means controls a motor so as to reduce a clearance between the brake pad and the disk according to the predicted results of the braking prediction means.</p>
