PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active mass damper of a suspending and supporting type having less number of rotary connecting members, and a construction having the active mass damper. SOLUTION: A single pendulum comprises a suspension member 32 rotatably suspended on a structural body 16 installed on a structure 12, and a weight 18 fixed to a lower end part of the suspension member 32. Therefore, a control force controlling vibrations caused to the structure 12 by the wind etc. is applied horizontally to the structure 12 by the swing of the weight 18, so that the vibrations caused to the structure 12 can be reduced.
