PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass powder for coating a light emitting element, capable of sealing a semiconductor light emitting element at 400°C or lower and obtaining a desired efficiency of light emission, and to provide a slurry for coating the light emitting element, a paste for coating the light emitting element and a glass coated light emitting apparatus.

SOLUTION: In this glass powder for coating a light emitting element capable of sealing a light emitting element at 400°C or lower, a relative particle amount of glass spherical particles composed of P2O5-SnO-based glass having a particle diameter of 0.1 to 500 μm is ≥99% in vol.%; a glass transition temperature is 250 to 350°C; and the content of crosslinking oxygen in all oxygen in the surface is ≥5%.
