PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing a hot-dip coated steel strip having excellent surface appearance by reducing production of splash in a gas wiping process. SOLUTION: The apparatus for manufacturing the hot-dip coated steel strip for controlling the thickness of a deposited metal by blowing gas from a wiping nozzle 3 above a hot-dip metal coating tank 9 includes: a roll covering part formed on both sides of the steel strip above an in-bath support roll below the bath level so as to cover ≥1/4 on the bath surface side of an outer circumferential surface of the in-bath support roll; and a steel strip opposing part arranged above the roll covering part and formed oppositely to the steel strip. The steel strip opposing part and the roll covering part have the width equal to or more than the steel strip width. In the steel strip opposing part, molten metal squeezing members 1a, 1b connected to ends on the steel strip side of the roll covering part are arranged in a non-contact manner with the strip and the in-bath support roll, and have a rectifying structure at least on a part of the steel strip opposing surface of the steel strip opposing part so that the flow of the molten metal at the ends of the steel strip is opposite to that of the advancing steel strip, and toward the center of the steel strip from the outer sides of the ends of the steel strip.
