<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shutdown method of a solid polymer fuel cell system and a solid polymer fuel cell system with a volume of use of nitrogen greatly reduced, and capable of stopping the solid polymer fuel cell system even in a compact system. <P>SOLUTION: The shutdown method of the solid polymer fuel cell system comprises, (1) a route closing process of containing a supply route of hydrogen and oxygen supplied to the fuel cell, (2) a hydrogen and oxygen removal mode process carrying out removal of residue hydrogen and oxygen from a fuel cell stack 11, (for instance, consuming hydrogen and oxygen in the fuel cell system through power generation by (1) passing a given current, (2) connecting a given resistor, (3) impressing a given voltage or the like, and (4) evacuating residue hydrogen and oxygen outside or the like), and (3) an inert gas substituting process of supplying inert gas in the fuel cell stack 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
