<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer compound having a high carrier mobility of as large as triplet excitation energy. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The polymer compound has a molecule X in which conjugated rings or hetero conjugated rings An are bonded to an atom X' (=C or Si) as the central figure by a single bond, the molecule being represented by formula (1) [wherein An (n=1-4) may be conjugated rings or hetero conjugated rings which are different from one another and A3 and A4 at no polymerization site of a polymer each may be hydrogen, a methyl group, an alkyl group or a halogen atom other than the conjugated ring or the hetero conjugated ring] and a unit B having charge transportability in the main chain and is used as a luminous host material.
