<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and inexpensive chip collecting device with the favorable consumption efficiency of a cutting liquid. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The chip collecting device 1 carries chips 5 generated by machining an object 3 to be worked by a machine tool 2 and including the cutting liquid 4 attached by a chain conveyor 10, and separates the chips 5 attached to the cutting liquid 4 by the cutting liquid 4, and the chips 5 for collection. The device includes an impeller 20 turned in one direction by capturing the chips 5 attached with the cutting liquid 4 dropped from an outlet 17 of the chain conveyor 10 for separating the chips 5 attached with the cutting liquid 4 to the cutting liquid 4 and the chips 5, and a return chute 40 for collecting the cutting liquid 4 dropped from the impeller 20. The impeller 20 includes a pocket 22a into which the cutting liquid 4 attached to the chips 5 flows. The rotation of the impeller 20 makes the cutting liquid 4 attached to the chips 5 flow into the pocket 22a, and separated from the chips 5.
