<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery having a more improved charge-discharge cycle characteristics than conventional ones, and to provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery with the same cathode having excellent charge-discharge cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the cathode for nonaqueous electrolyte battery includes a process of sintering a coating film obtained from a slurry containing powder materials of a cathode and a binder, or a molding containing powder materials of a cathode and a binder. Before the sintering, decarbonizing treatment for the coating film or the molding is carried out so that a carbon content in the cathode for nonaqueous electrolyte battery is to be 60 ppm or less. The decarbonizing treatment is performed at 300±100 °C. The powder materials of the cathode are mainly composed of lithium cobaltate, and the binder is composed of polyvinyl butyral or polyurethane resin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
