<p>PURPOSE: A display device and a method for displaying an image are provided to perform animations corresponding to motions of a user and output sounds corresponding to motions of the animations. CONSTITUTION: A sensor(10) senses a user motion. A controller(60) controls a signal processor(40) to display an animation related to a still image on a display unit(50) if the still image is displayed on the display unit and the user motion is sensed. The still image includes at least one object. Sensing areas for sensing the user motion are set in each object. If the user motion is sensed in the sensing areas, animations of the objects are performed.</p>
