DETERMINATING DEVICE FOR CONDITION OF A BRIDGE DECK USING DIELECTRIC CONSTANT AND THE METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A device for evaluating the condition of bridge deck using dielectric constant is provided to accurately detect the furious flames of a bridge by comparing the dielectric constant of a bridge slab with the dielectric constant of the reflected electromagnetic wave. CONSTITUTION: A device for evaluating the condition of bridge deck using dielectric constant comprises an electromagnetic wave generating unit(10), a transmission antenna(12), a RX-antenna(14), a data arithmetic part(22), a data storage module(24) and a controller(42). The transmission antenna diffuses the electromagnetic wave generated from the electromagnetic wave generating unit to a concrete structure. The RX-antenna receives the electromagnetic wave reflected by the concrete structure through the process of the penetration and reflection. The data arithmetic part extracts data with the value of the amplitude intensity of the electromagnetic wave received from the RX-antenna. The data storage module stores comparison data for comparing heating state of the bridge slab. The controller distinguishes the heating state within the concrete structure.
