<p>Determining the chemotaxis activity of leukocytes in a sample by determining expression of a cell-adhesion molecule (I), is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) similar method that involves determining the number of leukocytes that migrate through a porous membrane, particularly one coated with collagen, fibrinogen and/or gelatine; (2) reagent kit for determining chemotaxis activity of leukocytes, particularly granulocytes; and (3) diagnosis of immune defects and/or leukocyte functional disorders by measuring chemotaxis activity of a patient sample and comparison with a negative control.</p> |
