<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device in which a power supply line can be attached to a high pressure discharge lamp without sacrificing the effective reflecting face of a mirror and an expected optical output can be certainly obtained, and moreover miniaturization is achieved. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the light source device in which a high pressure discharge lamp is arranged in the mirror in a state in which one end thereof is projected in the front of the direction of an optical axis from the opening surface of the mirror, a through-hole in alignment with the optical axis is formed in the aperture side of the fringe portion of the mirror, and the power supply line of the high pressure discharge lamp is pulled out behind the mirror through the through-hole. The mirror in the light source device is molded by hot pressing, and the through-hole is formed in a flange portion prepared in the aperture ends of the mirror and formed by the hot pressing.
