<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roof structure wherein a retaining part for retaining rainwater flowing down on the upper surface of a gable can be made lower than a conventional one. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The gable 10 is provided with an upper surface part 10a disposed on the upper surface side of a verge side of the roof 1, and an end surface part 10b formed at the end of the upper surface part 10a and disposed on the end surface side of the verge side of the roof 1. A projection 10k is formed at an intersection of the upper surface part 10a and the end surface part 10b along a verge. The retaining part 30 inclined downward from the side of the projection 10k to the roof 1 side is provided on the upper surface part 10a of the tip of the gable 10, and an extension part 31 extending from the upper part of the retaining part 30 to the rear end side of the gable 10 is provided on the upper part of the retaining part 30, whereby rainwater hitting the retaining part 30 is prevented from going over the retaining part 30 by the extension part 31.
